  13 May 2024

Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is a global health security and development challenge threatening public health and economic prosperity. Antimicrobials are widely used in health, industrial, and agricultural sectors, but their sustainability is threatened by inappropriate use. The World Bank is providing financing and technical assistance to support governments in designing and implementing antimicrobial preservation strategies, focusing on low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). Addressing AMR is crucial for achieving universal health coverage and promoting good health.
